Starting a Garden is a Lot Like Playing in the Dirt Home

The fact is that starting a garden that thrives involves little more than following directions and paying attention to what it is that you are growing.

Most gardens require quite a bit of advanced planning. The fact is that seeds take time to grow and if you want those seeds or seedlings to really thrive they need to be put into the ground at specific times of year. As time goes on you'll figure out a routine and you'll just know what you need to do in your garden each day. You will eventually figure out when your garden needs compost, when it needs weeding, when it needs nutrients and if it needs more water. Put together a schedule of your own and then follow it. Many new gardeners fail to keep their gardens alive because they either don't realize how much work is needed or they decide they don't care about how much work is needed to keep a garden plot healthy.
Simple flowers and hardy vegetables are the best plants to grow if you are a beginning gardener. Lambs ears, zinnias, black eyed Susans and other flowers are also pretty easy to grow.
Obviously there are other options available even for first time gardeners. New gardeners just seem to find these flowers and vegetables the easiest to plant and raise. Before you try to grow picky plants, you should make sure that you have success with "simple" plants. Anybody can grow a garden. The thing you need to do if you want your garden to be successful is to make sure that you use the right steps to grow your garden. You need to do some advance planning and plant research if you want your garden to flourish and thrive. Once you've learned about keeping your garden healthy and have established a nourishment routine, doing your "gardening chores" will take on a far more enjoyable feeling. You might even discover that you eagerly anticipate working in your garden each day!
